Open Mic Nights

Open Mic Nights are held online and in-person on alternate months. There is no pressure to read, you can enjoy come along, simply enjoy the poems and meet new friends.

 

Dates for 2023 are being confirmed and will apppear below once confimed:

• ONLINE > Monday 20 March, online via Zoom. Starts at 7.45pm. Free to attend. Link to join to follow

• IN-PERSON > Sunday 23 April, with guest poets Mark Pajak and Charlotte Baldwin. The Barn, Sainsbury's, London Road, Whitchurch, Shropshire SY13 1NJ. Doors at 7.45pm. £3 payable on arrival.

• ONLINE > Monday 15 May, online via Zoom. Starts at 7.45pm. Free to attend. Link to join will follow

• IN-PERSON > Monday 19 June, venue to be confirmed. £3 payable on arrival

• ONLINE > Monday 17 July, online via Zoom. Starts at 7.45pm. Free to attend. Link to join will follow

• IN-PERSON > Monday 21 August, venue to be confirmed. £3 payable on arrival

How does it work?

 

Open Mic Nights are open to anyone  aged 18 and over. It doesn't matter if you're just interested in hearing poetry readings, or if you're interested in performing some of your own work - come along!

No advance booking is necessary - and you can decide on the night if you want to read or not. 

​

Each open mic nights regularly feature published poets who will perform some of their work; we'll also hear from local talent and develoing poets..

​

Open Mic Nights are a friendly evening out with like-minded people who are either accomplished poets and seasoned perfomers, developing their craft, or are simply embarking on their poetry-writing journey and want to find out more about the support and development available.
